The Ku Klux Klan recruits members in Atlanta

If there was any doubt in anyone's mind that racism was still alive, here's your answer. The KKK is still recruiting new members according to Fox News in Atlanta. Hip Hop Wired reports:

A tiny, well-kept suburb just 30 miles southwest of Atlanta appears to have a growing situation on their hands in the form of the Ku Klux Klan ramping up recruitment efforts in town. Residents of Newnan, GA found their quiet existence rattled by an appearance of flyers featuring a hooded Klansmen placed in a plastic bag appearing alongside Sunday newspaper circulars this past weekend. Residents were taken aback by the discovery.

“A little shocked in this day and time because of the neighborhood that we live,” said Elaine Beasley, an African-American resident, to My Fox Atlanta, who broke the news. According to census records, Newman reports the majority of its residents as white, with a near equal number of African-Americans dwelling in the suburb as well. My Fox Atlanta followed up by calling the contact number found on the flyers.

Reaching out to Frank Acona, supposed leader of the Traditionalist American Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, the news outlet was met with a smug reaction to flyers and their distribution. “I've had hundreds of calls to the Traditionalist American Knights hotline thanking us for the flyers we put out, telling us they appreciate us, and that makes it all worthwhile,” said Acona. He also feigned ignorance as to who was behind the printing and distributing of the literature in Newman, only saying it was from his website.

The homeowners association attempted to retrieve the offensive documents, but their efforts came too late and news spread quickly. Universally, Newman residents were appalled by the bold gesture although fears were certainly stirred up in the hearts of the town's Black residents.

“You should be able to work and live without fear,” Elaine Beasley later said.

Max B denied appeal

Some unfortunate news in the case of Max B. The Harlem rapper has been denied an appeal in his murder case. Hip Hop Wired reports:

[T]he Harlem rapper was denied his last ditch appeal and must spend at least the next 30 years in prison, as reported by RapDose. He will not be eligible for parole until November 9, 2042.

Max, born Charlie Wingate, has been in a New Jersey prison since 2009 after he was convicted for his role in a 2006 robbery-homicide where David Taylor was killed. Wingate, who denies his involvement in the incident, was convicted of nine of 11 counts of conspiracy, murder and robbery charges and given a 75-year-sentence. Authorities allege Max sent his ex-girlfriend and stepbrother to rob two men at a New Jersey Holiday Inn. During the robbery, Taylor was shot execution style, and later died.

Freeway Ricky Ross calls Rozay a 'complete idiot'

In the latest in the saga of "Freeway" Ricky Ross vs Rozay, Ross reveals that the judge in California has made the new trial a public trial. Hip Hop Wired reports:

The case—which was originally thrown out in 2010—has been reopened in California with a new trial date set for early May in Los Angeles. While talking to The Boombox, the original Ricky Ross, and reformed ex-drug kingpin, laid into the Maybach Music Group mogul, who the OG feels is “spitting in people's faces” by creating a false past and that he will eventually find his career in the dump if he doesn't rectify the situation.

“I think he's a complete idiot,” said Freeway Ricky Ross in the interview. “It's a disgrace for me to have someone like this with my name. He doesn't know what the name stands for, or how I got my name. He thinks that this name belongs to some big mafia guy who don't care about nothing but himself and really, he's just a pig.”
When asked why Hip-Hop embraces the Miami rapper, the original Ross states that many rappers in the industry today are just as phony as he is.
“Well, most of them are just like he is,” he continued. “I sold drugs because I thought that was my only option. I know what it's like not to have food in the refrigerator. These guys come from good backgrounds… To have somebody who went to college and whose moms had a good job then turn around and claim poverty and illiteracy, it's totally ludicrous.”

With the trial date around the corner, “Freeway” says that the judge has decided to make this a public trial, which means that as soon as the final ruling is made, Ross will publically release the rapper's deposition that made him lose what little respect he had for the MMG head honcho.

“I can't wait, so everyone can see what a clown he is,” he stated. “When they get to see some of the things he says on camera ... I couldn't believe some of the things he said on camera. Let the world see it.”

Jim Jones was arrested two times in two days

Dipset representative Jim Jones has fallen on a string of misfortune, dealing with trumped up charges. Allhiphop reports:

According to reports, Jones was arrested in Manhattan for driving with a suspended license.

According to TMZ.com, he was originally a passenger in the seat of the car, and not the driver.

His driver stopped to pick up something from a store.

Police approached Jones and asked him to move the vehicle.

When he moved the car, he was pulled over and taken into custody for driving with a suspended license.

Jones’ reps have denied the claims and said that the arrest was the result of a glitch in the computer system.

Just three days earlier, Jones was taken into custody after a shouting match that turned into a violent melee, ending an event hosted by Diddy at the MGM Grand Foxwoods.

In that incident, Jones was charged with second-degree breach of peace, inciting a riot, and resisting arrest.

This year, in addition to the XXL staff choosing nine of the cover’s 10 artists, the fans were able to decide who would be the final lyricist chosen.

From subdued music fans to diehard rap junkies, from Twitter stalkers to industry heavies and featherweights, folks wanted their list to be the XXL list. We listened, asked opinions, took notes.”

The lucky 10 to make this year’s cover includes Future, Kid Ink, Danny Brown, French Montana, Macklemore, Don Trip, Machine Gun Kelly, Hopsin, Iggy Azalea, and Roscoe Dash.

Tyga allegedly dropped the dime on Chris Brown in Florida

One thing I always tell people, if you're going to do some dirt, you have a better chance of getting away with it if you do it by yourself. Well, it seems as if this is a lesson Chris Brown is going to learn the hard way. According to new reports, Tyga recently pulled a Kobe Bryant over the incident that took place involving Chris Brown in Miami. The Miami Herald reports:

Gossip Extra hears that Brown’s fellow rapper Tyga, who was at the scene of the incident, told police Brown got hot under the collar when he saw two female fans snapping his picture on their cellphones. Brown assumed the photos, taken outside Cameo nightclub in South Beach, would end up on the Internet, according to the Gossip Extra report.

Why would that be bad? Because, Tyga told police, Brown was taking two groupies home — not good when one is trying to hook back up with one’s high-profile ex-girlfriend.

Tyga told detectives: “The guy’s trying to get back with Rihanna, and he knows that wouldn’t happen if the photos ended up online,” said the source, who asked to remain anonymous.

...

As Brown worked his way through throngs of bystanders that night on South Beach, Brown allegedly ordered one of his two bodyguards to make two women stop http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifphotographing him.

“Chris kept telling him: ‘Erase the mother******* pictures,’ ” the law enforcement source said. “ ‘Those photos can’t get out there.’ ”

The bodyguard obliged, then returned the phone.

But according to the police report, from the back of his black Bentley, Brown grabbed fan Christal Spann’s iPhone, called her the B-word and closed his window as the car rolled away.

Police have requested that the Miami-Dade County State Attorney issue an arrest warrant for Brown, which had yet to be done Saturday night.
