Trae Tha Truth receives a gun-shot wound outside a strip club in Houston

The most recent Grand Hustle signee, Trae tha Truth was shot outside a strip club. Allhiphop reports:

This morning (June 20), Houston rapper and Grand Hustle signed artist, Trae the Truth, was wounded in a shooting at a strip club on the southwest side of Houston.

According to reports from the Houston Police Department, the shooting occurred around 3:30a.m. at 9850 Westpark near Tanglewilde.

Police said two men and a woman died at the scene, as a crowd gathered in the parking lot.

Trae the Truth is currently hospitalized and recovering from the incident.

Witnesses say the shooting occurred after the “Trae Concert After Party” at nearby Club Blue.

Hours after the shooting, police said the specifics of the shooting are still unclear, despite going through evidence for several hours.

According to the Houston Chronicle, as of the time of print, there were no suspects or clear motives for the shooting, but investigators think the shooting could be connected to a domestic dispute that occurred on Father’s Day.

While they maintain that suspicion, details of how that dispute is related to the shooting are still being confirmed.

Hip Hop Wired reports:

Following the violent eruption at Houston's Scores Cabaret that left three people dead and two injured earlier in the week, the rapper told XXL that he still doesn't know how things escalated. “I'm not sure exactly what the altercation was necessarily about, but long story short, whatever transpired, they ran in my direction, so in the process of running in my direction, that kind of had everybody in the open,” he said.  “So as the altercation came my way, shots were being dispersed, but since it was coming [in] our direction, it was a crowd of people. Everybody was [at the] wrong place, [at the] wrong time.”

After the incident, Trae—who sustained a gunshot wound to his back—was taken to a local hospital. “As far as my condition, I'm in the healing process, tryin' to figure out how to get this bullet removed. The bullet's still in my shoulder. They changing bandages now and it's still bleeding.”

Since one of the victims killed was a member of his ABN (A**holes By Nature) family, detectives took Trae “directly from the hospital,” for questioning. Authorities have yet to apprehend any suspects connected to the shooting.
