Texas man kills and eats his friend's dog

There are certain portions of the world that think nothing of eating dogs. America is not one of those regions. Now, a Texas man has been arrested for killing and eating his roommate's pet dog. Hip Hop Wired reports:

First, human beings were put on alert over potential zombie attacks, and now man's best friend is no longer safe. A Waco, Texas man was arrested Monday (June 25) for killing and eating his roommate's dog.

Michael Terron Daniel, blamed his actions on a “bad trip.” According to police, Daniel took the synthetic drug K-2 (a mixture of herbs and spices similar to  THC, which is the main component in marijuana) and began attacking his roommate—before he set his sights on the dog. He beat and choked the Spaniel mix, until it died, then began to devour the lifeless animal.

When a neighbor tried to stop him, Daniel got down on all fours and started “barking and growling like a dog.” Police arrived on the scene to find the suspect sitting on the porch with the dog's carcass on his lap. He “took a bite out of the fog, ripping pieces of flesh away and eating them,” revealed  Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton, and had “blood and fur in his mouth.”

This latest dog feast is the second story of its kind in the last couple of weeks. As previously reported, a North Carolina man bit the ear off a police K-9 , then denied the act.

Although his roommate declined to press charges, Daniel has been slapped with a felony cruelty to a non-livestock animal charge. He is being held at the McLennan County Jail on $5,000 bond.

Tony Parker could miss the Olympics over eye injury after Drake/Chris Brown incident

Someone's reckless behavior may have cost Tony Parker a chance to compete in this year's Olympics. Hip Hop Wired reports:

According to reports, Tony Parker almost lost an eyeball during the bottle throwing fracas. Parker's cornea was scratched in the fight, and the guard had to have an operation to remove a shard that had "penetrated 99 percent" of his left eye.

"I'm seeing a specialist in New York with the hope of being given the all clear to play in the Olympic Games," Parker said on his website. "Anything can happen, including me being out of the Olympics. The decision doesn't belong to me anymore. It's in the hands of the doctor and San Antonio."
Meek Mill haven't had much good fortune since that night either apparently. Allhiphop.com reports:

Although Meek Mill denies any involvement in the Chris Brown/Drake bottle fight at W.i.P. in NYC a few weeks back, club owners in NYC are still rumored to be cautious of the young rapper. We hear that Meek was denied entry into NYC’s trendy club, Tenjune, when the Philly rapper tried to gain entrance at 2AM. Meek was clearly peeved after he was denied by the doormen, tweeting, “I don’t got no love for these clubs that discriminate against a certain race! F*ck you . . . u won’t get these racks!”

W.i.P, the club where the bottle fight happened, announced that it lost its liquor license yesterday, so that probably means that it will be closed down for good. A Tenjune rep had no comment on the incident.

Dallas woman arrested for trying to sell her baby in the newspaper

I still believe there should be a committee established to decide who should be allowed to conceive children. Especially after this! Hip Hop Wired reports:

The state of Texas is getting a bad rap, thanks in part to a Dallas woman has been arrested on suspicion of trying to sell her newborn in the newspaper. Brittany Hill, 26, was arrested on Child Abandonment charges Friday (June 22). She placed her 4-month-old son for sale for the bargain price of $4,000, but was busted when a potential customer saw the ad, and contacted police.

Hill was arrested after returning to the Shadow Ridge apartments, where she left her child alone in a crib. Apartment managers entered Hill's unit to collect rent, when they found the baby all alone.

Neighbors who witnessed her arrest were disturbed by the turn of events.  "I just think it's a very sad situation, and I'm glad that the baby is safe and away from those people," said Latonia Smith. "I saw her when she was pregnant, and she just seemed to be very depressed, always alone sitting on the stairway."
Another neighbor, Omara Muhammad, said that she would have helped Hill had she asked. "I'd have been there for her if I had known all of this," said Muhammad.  "I'm not working; I'm a senior citizen. I'm home 24-7."

The infant is safe from further child abuse and, has been placed in the care of Child Protective Services.

Jimmy Henchman indicted for murder and apparently confesses to Tupac shooting

Weeks after being found guilty of cocaine distributing, James Rosemond has racked up another charge and allegedly copped to Tupac's 1994 shooting at Quad Studios in New York. Hip Hop Wired reports:

A tough 2012 for CZAR Entertainment founder, Jimmy Henchmen, got even tougher as he was indicted for a murder stemming back to 2009. After being convicted on drug charges a few weeks back, Henchmen was one of the six people implicated in an organized hit according to the New York Times.
Preet Bharara, the United States attorney in Manhattan, said Mr. Rosemond and the five other defendants had “operated like a mini-gang, allegedly committing a revenge killing, and a host of drug and firearms offenses.” A seventh man was also charged with firearms and narcotics offenses but not murder.
Mr. Fletcher was shot to death on the evening of Sept. 27, 2009, near Jerome and Mount Eden Avenues in the Mount Eden neighborhood of the Bronx.Mr. Rosemond and another man hired at least two of the defendants to kill Mr. Fletcher in exchange for drugs, according to the indictment in United States District Court in Manhattan.

Not only was Henchman found guilty last month for operating a drug ring and indicted for murder on Friday, but he has finally come clean about his role in the infamous Quad Studios shooting of Tupac Shakur.
This shooting turned friends Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G. into bitter enemies and eventually led to demise of both of their lives. Per The Village Voice:
“Rosemond secretly admitted to involvement in Tupac's ambush during one of nine “Queen For A Day” proffer sessions with the government last autumn, court transcripts show. (In such sessions, suspects under investigation choose to enter an agreement with the government to confess knowledge of certain crimes with the agreement that the information won't be used to prosecute them.) His confession unfolded as he was trying to carve out a cooperation deal that might lead to a reduced sentence, according to federal prosecutors.
“Rosemond apparently came clean about his involvement in Tupac's ambush shortly after his former best friend, Dexter Isaac, stepped forward last summer to publicly confess that he had led the attack on Shakur in 1994. Isaac released a statement on June 16, 2011 to allhiphop.com, saying it was Rosemond who had paid him to rob and pistol-whip Tupac.”
The statute of limitations on robbery is seven years, so although this confession brings minor closure to a huge chapter in Hip-Hop, the involved parties will see zero jail time for this.

50 Cent hospitalized after accident in New York

Rap star 50 Cent has ended up in the hospital for the second time in as many months. Allhiphop reports:

50 Cent became the second rapper to crash his high-end vehicle this week, after he was rear-ended by a Mack truck.

50 was rushed to a Queens hospital on a stretcher to check for neck and back injuries, although a source said that the rapper was “fine.”

The accident occurred along New York’s Long Island Expressway.

50 was not driving his bullet-proof SUV at the time of the incident.

Although he has not commented or tweeted about the accident at the time of print, photos were released via ThisIs50.com showing him being rolled out on the stretcher.

This is the second time that 50 has been hospitalized in the past two months, as recently he made a trip to the hospital for a nagging stomach virus.

Yesterday, news broke that rapper Soulja Boy crashed his Bentley, after the luxury vehicle crossed a yellow line at a red light and struck a pregnant woman driving another vehicle.

Halle Berry forced to pay $240k per year in child support

This story just may qualify as poetic justice. Excuse me, I still believe this is too much money for someone who is not even an adult, but Halle Berry has been stuck with a child support bill comparable to the one celebrity men normally have to pay. Time.com reports:

Halle Berry may want to consider selling her gold statuette after a Los Angeles family court judge ordered her to pay $240,000 a year in child support.

The Monster’s Ball actress has been battling in court with her ex-boyfriend, model Gabriel Aubry, for years over custody of their young daughter Nahla, 4, but this is the first time the court has set an amount for child support. In May, Aubry asked a Los Angeles judge to award him the sum in order to support Nahla. Now Berry’s ex-boyfriend can expect $20,000 a month from the actress, TMZ reports.
The Oscar winner, 45, split from Aubry, 36, in April 2010 after dating for close to five years. While the couple had initially hoped to work out a peaceful custody arrangement, it hasn’t ended up that way. The couple has been in court for years trying to work out custody and care arrangements. Last year, Berry told People magazine, “Our issues were never about fighting for her. We both know a child needs both her parents. But what I want to say about it is sometimes, as a couple, you reach an impasse. We needed a court and a judge to help us work out some of the delicate issues … because for her sake, this is the best way. We both love her more than life.” Now Berry is seeking the court’s permission to let her move Nahla to Paris, where Berry hopes to move with her her fiancĂ©, French actor Olivier Martinez.

Pusha T says Lil Wayne's track "Goulish" was trash

During a recent stop at Hot 97, Pusha T got a chance to speak about Lil Wayne, among other things, like his relationship with his brother. Allhiphop reports:

[W]e all want to know what Pusha-T thinks of the Lil’ Wayne’s diss record, “Ghoulish”. Check out what he said about the diss below:

“It was horrible. It was trash. It wasn’t great. I haven’t said anything about it ’cause I didn’t think it was good enough to respond to.”

Pusha-T admitted that he was still confused about the whole thing and wants to know what was it that caused Lil’ Wayne to go off.

“He’s already said what he’s said. At the end of the day, I think him saying what he said was in his best interest, to admit that you were emotional in reacting to something. I still want to know what part pertained, what hit you? I wanna know.

“I was surprised by anybody, Wayne specifically, answering ‘Exodus.’ I’ve never seen one record that didn’t say a name cause so much of a firestorm.”

Pusha also said that there will “definitely” be another Clipse album on the way, and he cleared up any rumors that he and (No) Malice have broken up.

“A lot of people get that twisted and they say, ‘You and your brother broke up.’ We can’t break up, we brothers. It doesn’t happen that way. He went and did his book and I went on a solo venture. We definitely coming back with another Clipse album.”

N.W.A. movie casting has now officially began

Movie director, F. Gary Gray, has announced that he is now looking to cast actors for the new N.W.A film. Hip Hop Wired reports:

The release date of the N.W.A biopic, Straight Outta Compton, is still up in the air, but director F. Gary Gray is moving forward with the casting process. Gray posted a flier via his Facebook page Tuesday (June 19) announcing that he is looking for actors to fill the role of N.W.A members. “I'm casting for my next film STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON. Spread the word! Thanks!” he wrote.

In March, Ice Cube stated that the film's script was nearly done, denying rumors that John Singleton was set to helm the film. “We're interviewing a lot of directors. I don't want to say 'yay' or 'nay,' but we're interviewing directors,” he explained. “So, the movie's in progress in this high speed, it's coming along. Hopefully, we'll get it done.”

Although the film is in the early casting stages, Cube also revealed that having his son, Doughboy, portray him in the film would be a “dream come true.”

Tone Loc collapses during a live performance

Rap vet Tone Loc recently had a little mishap during performance. Hip Hop Wired reports:

Tone Loc collapsed from heat exhaustion during his performance in Texas, Friday (June 15), reports TMZ. The rapper was on stage at The Moody Theater in Austin, when he fell out in the middle of his set.

According to his manager, the temperature inside the venue had surpassed 100 degrees.
After the fall, Loc was rushed off stage and given water, and a half an hour to recuperate—and returned to finish the show.

While Loc has a history of collapsing during shows, and was rushed to the hospital after falling during performances in 2009 and 2011, he has also found himself in legal trouble. Last year he was arrested for domestic violence, and later pleaded no contest to assault charges.

Meek Mill forced to cancel his overseas tour due to his criminal history

Let this be a lesson kids: Your past will follow you for the rest of your life. Meek Mill had to cancel his European tour because of his record. Allhiphop reports:

Meek Mill has announced that he is cancelling his upcoming Dreamchasers European Tour, in what has been a tumultuous past two weeks for Philly/Maybach Music Group rapper.

While some have speculated that the cancellation is due to his association with the Chris Brown/Drake incident, it is actually related to a different set of circumstances that center around Meek’s previous felonies as described in his Tweet, alluding to a “felty.”

“The uk tour has been cancelled bcuz I can’t get in yet because felty past criminal record but my lawyer will get things fixed soon,” Meek Mill tweeted from his Twitter account @MeekMill.

Although the tour has been cancelled, it is likely that Meek will get the situation resolved with his lawyers in the coming months, and it’s clear Meek was disappointed and wants to get the tour underway.

“I wanted 2 come bad as shit! #uk we gone get it right!” he added via Twitter.

Meek Mill’s tour was supposed to hit the road beginning on July 4, with a stop in Rotterdam in the Netherlands.

Trae Tha Truth receives a gun-shot wound outside a strip club in Houston

The most recent Grand Hustle signee, Trae tha Truth was shot outside a strip club. Allhiphop reports:

This morning (June 20), Houston rapper and Grand Hustle signed artist, Trae the Truth, was wounded in a shooting at a strip club on the southwest side of Houston.

According to reports from the Houston Police Department, the shooting occurred around 3:30a.m. at 9850 Westpark near Tanglewilde.

Police said two men and a woman died at the scene, as a crowd gathered in the parking lot.

Trae the Truth is currently hospitalized and recovering from the incident.

Witnesses say the shooting occurred after the “Trae Concert After Party” at nearby Club Blue.

Hours after the shooting, police said the specifics of the shooting are still unclear, despite going through evidence for several hours.

According to the Houston Chronicle, as of the time of print, there were no suspects or clear motives for the shooting, but investigators think the shooting could be connected to a domestic dispute that occurred on Father’s Day.

While they maintain that suspicion, details of how that dispute is related to the shooting are still being confirmed.

Hip Hop Wired reports:

Following the violent eruption at Houston's Scores Cabaret that left three people dead and two injured earlier in the week, the rapper told XXL that he still doesn't know how things escalated. “I'm not sure exactly what the altercation was necessarily about, but long story short, whatever transpired, they ran in my direction, so in the process of running in my direction, that kind of had everybody in the open,” he said.  “So as the altercation came my way, shots were being dispersed, but since it was coming [in] our direction, it was a crowd of people. Everybody was [at the] wrong place, [at the] wrong time.”

After the incident, Trae—who sustained a gunshot wound to his back—was taken to a local hospital. “As far as my condition, I'm in the healing process, tryin' to figure out how to get this bullet removed. The bullet's still in my shoulder. They changing bandages now and it's still bleeding.”

Since one of the victims killed was a member of his ABN (A**holes By Nature) family, detectives took Trae “directly from the hospital,” for questioning. Authorities have yet to apprehend any suspects connected to the shooting.

Killer Mike explains how both Waka Flocka and Lupe Fiasco can damage hip-hop

We all know that Killer Mike is one of the most outspoken individuals in rap music. In a recent interview, Mike explains how both two sides of the spectrum can be damaging to the Hip-Hop culture. Hip Hop Wired reports:

The Atlanta rapper exposed his knack critical thinking during a visit to Green Lantern's Invasion Radio when explaining how both Waka Flocka Flame and Lupe Fiasco can be damaging to Hip-Hop.

While discussing Mike's new album, R.A.P. Music, the topic moved to the extremes in Hip-Hop music; with the intellectual lyricism of the Go's Lupe Fiasco and the rowdy bars of ATL's Waka Flocka Flame serving as examples. Killer Kill believes both extremes can be hurtful in the grand scheme of Hip-Hop and its audience. “Waka gets presented as ignorance, but he's not,” began Killer Mike. “But the people who present him that way and who accept him that way, they take bless in that ignorance. Taking bliss and being ignorant meaning, you're just going to stay ignorant. But Waka's not ignorant. He's progressively moving his family [and] his future forward. But if you only think the ignorance in the music that makes me feel good for three minutes is it, then you're going to stay in that place where you at; that's welfare, no healthcare…I mean we know who like the hood music, the hood.”

On the opposite end of the spectrum are fans who can be too snobbish when it comes to who they choose to rock with. “On the other side, when you have Lupe and the audience that he brings, a lot of times that audience can perceive [themselves] to be more than or elitist,” explaind Mike. “I watched the Roots work their audience back. I remember when the Roots audience used to shimmy up like, ‘We don't do the Jay-Z.' And the Roots and Jay worked together like, ‘Nah, ee all Black men, this all Hip-Hop.' And then those two audiences fused together. With audiences like [Lupe's] a lot of times you can protect yourself behind the ‘I don't really deal with rap, but I listen to Lupe.'"

Police officer pleads not guilty to the shooting death of Ramarley Graham

Another case of police shooting a young teen, a New York officer is being charged with manslaughter over the shooting death of Ramarley Graham. Hip Hop Wired:

Richard Haste, the NYPD officer charged with manslaughter for shooting and killing 18-year-old Ramarley Graham, entered a not guilty plea during his arraignment Wednesday (June 13).

Haste is accused of killing Graham after breaking into the Bronx house the he shared with his family. According to the department, Haste entered the residence as a part of a drug bust, and allegedly suspected Graham of selling drugs. Fellow officers, and relatives of the teen victim were all on hand in court, to show advocate for opposite sides. Graham's family is also said to be unhappy that Haste was charged with manslaughter instead of murder.

While the NYPD has yet to release and official statement on the shooting, they have come under fire for racial profiling, and excessive force inflicted by their officers.

Graham's story has also caught the attention of Rev. Al Sharpton, who has thrown his support behind making sure that justice is served in the case.

Florida sets his girlfriend on fire outside of a 7-Eleven

This is just sad. First the Bath Salt drug were turning people in man eating zombies, now people are setting others on fire at gas stations. Allhiphop reports:

A crazy South Florida man is making headlines for dousing his ex-girlfriend with gasoline and setting her on fire, and then trying to stab her with a knife. According to police, 59-year-old Roosevelt Mondesir is accused of throwing gasoline on his 34-year-old girlfriend and setting her on fire in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven. The woman had just been denied a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend just two weeks before.

The two have a four-year-old child together and had agreed to meet at 3AM today at a 7-Eleven so that she could pick up her son. A 3AM meeting? Anyway, Mondesir showed up without their son, and instead brought a bucket of gasoline.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, the woman told police that she spotted the gasoline bucket and began to run away, when Mondesir threw it on her and lit her from behind. She was already on fire when she ran into the 7-Eleven and held the door closed from the inside. The store clerk called the police, and the man was arrested after he was found hiding in the bushes.

The woman suffered burns to her face and body, but is expected to recover. Mondesir is being charged with attempted murder charges. The store security camera caught the tail end of the altercation.

This is disturbing but the incident was caught on camera:

Inspiration behind classic ganster flick dies at the age of 69

The inspiration behind gangster film classic The Goodfellas has passed away. Allhiphop reports:

Legendary mobster Henry Hill, whose life story was the inspiration for Martin Scorsese’s six-time Academy Award-nominated film Goodfellas, died last night (June 12) at the age of 69 after a lengthy battle with an undisclosed illness.

TMZ spoke to Hill’s girlfriend who told the media outlet that “he had been sick for a long time…his heart gave out.”

The site reports that they were told that Hill had begun focusing “on mending relationships with estranged family members in recent years,” an act that his girlfriend said Hill made “tremendous progress with before he died.”

The film Goodfellas was adapted from crime reporter Nicholas Pileggi’s book Wiseguy, which documented Hill’s life story as an American mobster turned FBI informant.

Hill, who was most famously portrayed by Ray Liotta in Scorsese’s Goodfellas, passed away two days after his 69th birthday.

Another Atlanta rapper was shot

For the second time in one week, an Atlanta rapper has been shot. Allhiphop reports:

“[They] just started coming from everywhere,” he told MTV RapFix. “Like a hundred shots. It just came from everywhere, man. It was crazy. It was a nightmare.”

J Futuristic will continue to release music and anticipates that “Hold Up,” will be the turning point for his career going forward.

Canibus using notepad during a rap battle causes backlash

Call this another blunder in the career of Canibus. Recently caught some backlash over the fact that he used recycled rhymes and a notepad during as rap battle. Allhiphop reports:

Canibus just went down in flames over the weekend at the Pay-Per-View event - Vendetta: Battle Royale. He was eaten up by battle MC Dizaster, who is a beast in the battle game. Canibus could not keep up with Dizaster, and at one point, ran out of rhymes and pulled out a notepad. Rapper Talib Kweli was disgusted, or in his words “disturbed,” by the move and proceeded to berate Canibus on Twitter, tweeting

“Is mercury in retrograde or something? Just watched Canibus pull out a notepad during a battle. It truly disturbed me!,” he tweeted. “I rarely get confused. But I can’t front right now I’m confused.”

Producer Alchemist was at the battle and said it was even worse from his ringside view:

“Canibus and boxing died on the same night. None of the clips ive seen yet are equivalent to what it was like watching Canibus vs Diz live. It was like being on the set of a snuff film”

Protesters join together to demonstrate against NYC's Stop and Frisk laws

In case you haven't heard, the Stop and Frisk laws in New York have been the topic of discussion over the past few weeks. Al Sharpton has joined other protesters in New York. Allhiphop reports:

Reverend Al Sharpton, Hip-Hop executive Kevin Liles and a variety of rappers are teaming up to protest the NYPD’s stop and frisk policy.

Rev. Sharpton will lead a silent march from Harlem to Mayor Bloomberg’s house this Father’s Day (June 17).

The purpose of the march is to protest the stop and frisk policy, which Sharpton’s National Action Network says unfairly targets young black and Latino men from the Hip-Hop generation.

“We want to end violence and crime in our communities and support law enforcement, but not in a manner that encourages racial and religious profiling,” said Kevin Liles, former

President of Def Jam and Warner Music Group and supporter of the march.

“Reduction in crime is achievable if we work together with law enforcement to strengthen our communities, and build trust on both sides,” said Liles, who currently runs KWL Enterprises.

In addition to Al Sharpton, Kevin Liles and the National Action Network, the NAACP, members of the clergy, community leaders, students and others will march down 5th Avenue in Manhattan, to demand an end to the stop and frisk policy.

“It is pitiful that our young people are more afraid of the Police when they walk outside, than they are of any potential Gang,” added NAACP Northeast Director Marvin Bing.

“How unfortunate is it that we have to teach our young people how to react and respond when a Police Officer stops and frisk them, and any kind of movement can get them killed. Stop and Frisk must end,” Bing said. “It is no longer a Police crime prevention tactic- its racial harassment, and racial profiling at its core.”

The activists are demanding that NYPD police Commissioner Ray Kelly also denounced this policy, which they claim blatantly targets minority youth.

“We must bring attention to the continued pattern by the NYPD of routinely stopping and searching people of color — especially young black and Latino men (often times without probable cause),” said Tamika D. Mallory, the 32-year-old National Executive Director of National Action Network

“We call on Police Commissioner Ray Kelly and Mayor Michael Bloomberg to implement reform at once. By creating databases of people that have been ‘stopped and frisked,’ the NYPD has criminalized an entire generation of racial minorities in this city. We are in a crisis,” Mallory said.

50 Cent sits down with the Oprah

50 Cent has apparently put aside whatever his issues were with Oprah Winfrey to sit down and do an interview with the media mogul. Allhiphop reports:

In a sit down that many people never expected, 50 Cent and Oprah have connected for an introspective interview on a number of issues on her new show Oprah’s Next Chapter, on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN).

In the converstaion, the two have dialogue about rap culture, being a father, spirituality, 50′s life growing up, love, and even 50′s philosophy on death.

Despite his many violent run-ins with the streets, including being shot and having grown up in an environment of where his mother was murdered, 50 does not fear death and has found a way to come to terms with death itself.

“I’m not afraid of dying, I’ve accepted that I’m not in control. You know and I know that when the time comes, when you have that type of situation take place, or happens to you, and you dont have an answer, you go to the concept of your higher power. And they say there is a plan for you, and if you believe in it – I used to have a issues with the plan. When you getting ready to take off [on a plane],” 50 Cent said crossing himself as he traced the sign of the cross in the air.

“I only do it one time. I don’t – either pray or worry, dont do both. If you gonna sit there and say a prayer and then worry, then how does God feel about you? He knows you sitting there worrying.”

While the two had a nice conversation at 50′s grandmother’s house, in the past, the pair did not get along.

50 even named his dog after Oprah and it was widely believed that Oprah did not like rappers.

Rappers Ice Cube, Ludacris, 50 Cent and others chastised Oprah for supposedly turning a cold shoulder to Hip-Hop.

But many were mistaken as Oprah has fondness for several Hip-Hop songs.

“I listen to some hip-hop. You know, I’ve been accused of not liking Hip-Hop, and that’s just not true. I got a little 50 on my iPod. I really do. ‘Love In Da Club.’ – Love that, and you know, love Jay-Z, love Kanye, love Mary J,” told Ed Lover on New York’s Power 105 back in 2006.

The two-hour interview is broken down into two parts and debuts this upcoming Sunday (June 10th) at 9 p.m., EST, on the OWN cable network.

50 Cent's Cheetah Vision inks another deal with Lionsgate

Seems like 50 Cent is the only one having any good fortune this week. After his first landmark deal with Cheetah Vision that was worth $200 million for 10 films, 50 lands another deal for his production company. Alhiphop reports:

50 Cent’s Cheetah Vision film company and production shingle Emmett/Furla have announced a new 10-film deal with Grindstone/Lionsgate.

50 founded Cheetah Vision in 2009 with Randall Emmett.

In the first round, 50 landed a $200 million, 10-picture deal with Grindstone and Lionsgate.
The first collaboration between Grindstone, Emmett/Furla and Cheetah Vision produced a variety of successful feature films.

The original deal produced movies like “Setup” starring Bruce Willis, Ryan Phillippe and 50 Cent, “Freelancers,”starring Robert DeNiro and Forest Whitaker, “The Frozen Ground” starring Nicholas Cage and John Cusack and others.

“We have partnered with the Lionsgate family on films for more than 10 years, and we’re thrilled to see our partnership continue to grow with their success,” said Emmett/Furla’s Randall Emmett and George Furla.

The next film under the partnership between Grindstone and Emmett/Furla is titled “Empire State” starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Currently, Emmett/Furla and Cheetah Vision are working on a new action thriller titled “The Tombs” starring Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and 50 Cent.

That movie is slated to be released next year.

Child star arrested on murder charges

This story is kind of sad because I actually used to like this show. But, child star Dorjan Lyndell Daniels (famous for his role on "The Hughleys" as Michael Hughley) has been pinched on a murder charge. Thegrio.com reports:

The charge stems from an August 2011  incident, but news of the child star’s involvement was only made public after a recent report on the gossip website MediaTakeOut.com.

The child actor, whose real name is Dorjan Lyndell Daniels, and two other men were  accused of stabbing 26-year-old John Joseph to death outside Chitivah’s nightclub in Stockton, California.

According to San Joaquin County Jail records, Daniels is charged with one count of willful, deliberate premeditated murder and one count attempted murder, premeditated.

He is also charged with two counts of street terrorism.

The now 23-year-old former sitcom star is believed to be a member of the infamous Bloods gang.

Daniels is being held without bail. His next scheduled court appearance is June 7, 2012.

Here's what he looks like now:

Tim Dog caught in a sting operation

I guess it's just not a good week to be a rapper, or associated with rappers for that matter. Rap vet Tim Dog apparently got caught up in a sting operation this week. Allhiphop reports:

Veteran Bronx rapper Tim Dog will be featured on NBC’s “Dateline” this Friday, after being caught in an undercover sting operation.

Dateline correspondent Dennis Murphy will lead a segment on former rapper Tim Dog, who scammed a woman out of over $32,000, in an online dating scheme.

Esther Pilgrim and Noel Stehling were both conned by different musicians and they shared their stories on “Dateline.”

Tim Dog pleaded guilty to grand larceny in Mississippi in September 2011, the financial scheme left Pilgrim with over $32,000 in credit card debt.

Tim Dog, born Timothy Blair, received five years of probation and was ordered to pay Pilgrim $19,000 in restitution.

When Pilgrim was attempting to bring Tim Dog to justice, she befriended Stehling, who had a similar encounter.

As the women sought to bring Tim Dog to justice, Stehling set up a date with the rapper, wearing a hidden camera.

Tim Dog, born Timothy Blair, is a veteran rapper from the Bronx, who has worked with artists like Kool Keith and Ultramagnetic Emcees and others.

His most notable claim to fame is recording the song “F**k Compton,” which was one of the first records in a violent 90′s feud, between East coast and West coast rappers.

The “Dateline” episode featuring Tim Dog is slated to air this Friday (June 8) on NBC.

Ebro says "so what?" to Nicki Minaj not performing at Summer Jam

I must admit, when I heard Young Money (including Nicki Minaj) were refusing to perform at Hot 97's Summer Jam, my initial reaction was "Who cares?!" Well apparently Hot 97's boss, Ebro had the same reaction. Peep Ebro speaking to Cipher Sounds' crew on the morning show about the fiasco.

A Inglewood student was expelled after her teacher called her "nappy-headed"

It's always sad when a student's educational process is disrupted over nothing. A 13 year old Inglewood student has been expelled after being disrespected by her teacher. Hip Hop Wired reports:

A Southern California student was kicked out of school after she complained about her teacher calling her “nappy headed.”  Brea Persley, a 13-year-old student at Inglewood Century Academy, expressed embarrassment after her science teacher called her out in front of the entire class saying,  “sit your nappy-headed self  down.”

The teacher, Kelly Dempsey, apologized to Persley's parents via voicemail, but the damage was already done. “When the kids started laughing, it brought back the memories of when I was in 4th grade and kids used to laugh at me and tease me,” the teen told local news station, KTLA 5.

Once her mother,  Shronda Williams complained about the incident, principal Giselle Edman—a black woman— placed the blame on the student saying that “Bad things need to happen to mean kids.”

Not surprisingly, the school has yet to further explain their decision to kick Persley out, her story is similar to that of two black women who were put in embarrassing situations because of their hair. Last summer TSA officers at a Seattle Airport demanded to search a black woman's “poofy” hair, while a few months later, a Dallas hairstylist claims to have been singled-out by the TSA for having an afro.

Jimmy Henchman case is now closed

We've been keeping an eye on this case for a while. But, now this case is now closed. Jimmy Henchman was found guilty. Allhiphop.com reports:

A jury found Rosemond guilty of all 13 charges levied against him, for allegedly heading up the “Rosemond Organization.”

Federal prosecutors claim the organization shipped hundreds of kilograms on a weekly basis from the West Coast, using various overnight courier services.

The drugs were then shipped to New York, while the proceeds were sent back to the West Coast.
Rosemond was emotionless when the jurors reached their verdict, while his family friends and supporters showed obvious signs of disappointment.

“I am very disappointed by the verdict,” Rosemond’s lawyer Gerald Shargel told AllHipHop.com exclusively. “There were a lot of reasons to doubt the government’s case.”

James Rosemond was the CEO of Czar Entertainment, which at its height, managed artists like Akon,
Brandy, Groove Theory, Gucci Mane, Game, Michael K. Williams, Mike Tyson, Sheek Louch, and numerous others.

Rosemond is facing life in prison. He will be sentenced at a later date.

Co-founder of Roc-a-fella Records sentenced to 5 years is prison

Seems like the only one of the Roc-a-fella founders having good fortune is Jay-Z. While Dame Dash deals with lawsuits, tax problems and other issues, Kareem Biggs Burke has just been sentenced to 5 years in prison. Allhiphop reports:

Kareem “Biggs” Burke, who is most famously known as one of the co-founders of Roc-A-Fella, was sentenced earlier today (June 5) to five years in prison for conspiring to distribute over 100 kilos of marijuana.

The NY Daily News is reporting that Burke, 38, “was snared in a federal drug sting called “Operation Green Venom,” which targeted a trafficking ring that controlled most of the wholesale pot market in the city.” The drug sting led to the arrests of over 50 people involved.

Reports state that Burke swore to Manhattan Federal Court Judge Loretta Swain that the two would never see each other in court again. She responded, “Nothing personal, but I’m going to keep you to that promise.”

Back in October of 2010, Burke, along with 40 others, was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents for their involvement with a narcotic ring at the time. Special Agent Jim Hayes told the NY Post at the time of arrest regarding the narcotics ring, “It was transported in bulk from Florida to New York. From there it was divvied up among three main cells in the NYC-area and distributed to their clients. As the investigation continues, we want to make sure that other rival networks or other co-conspirators cannot use the same tools.”

Burke, along with Dame Dash and Jay-Z, co-founded Roc-A-Fella records in 1996. The business trio went there separate ways in 2004 where Jay-Z eventually landed his own situation with his current label, RocNation, while Dash created DD172.

Money is now locked up behind bars

Floyd Mayweather is now serving his short jail stint. Allhiphop reports:

Mayweather is slated to served a three month stint in jail, but is expected to get out early on good behavior. The charges stem from an incident where he pulled the hair and twisted the arm of the mother of his three children. He will be among 3,200 other inmates.

He won his last fight on May 5 over Miguel Cotto, making him a guaranteed $32 million before his earnings from pay-per-view.

He and friend 50 Cent recently mocked rumors that they had a fight in Las Vegas, where the champion fighter lives.
