C-Murder loses a bout in appellate court
Earlier today, former No Limit emcee C-Murder lost his case in the appellate court. Allhiphop reports:
The three judge panel from the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals denied Miller’s defense that he didnt get a fair trial in the shooting of a teenager in 2002.
Seven years later, the jury convicted Miller of second degree murder in 2009 for killing the 16 year old boy in a nightclub.
Miller claims the judge who carried out the trial allowed jurors to hear prejudicial and unsubstantiated testimony, and that witnesses were threatened.
In addition to the aforementioned claims, Miller says the prosecution intentionally eliminated black people from the jury. All claims were denied.
Deion Sanders divorce plays out in the public eye
NFL Hall-of-Famer Deion Sanders is in the midst of an ugly divorce. Much like the divorce of Kobe Bryant from his wife, Vanessa, their is a lot of speculation about what broke the marriage up. There were rumors of Deion being unfaithful and disagreements about the couple's reality show. All of this was just speculation, but it seems as if Deion Sanders daughter has her own thoughts about the matter. She took to the bird device to air it out. Hip Hop Wired reports:
"#HowYouDidntKnow BUt @ChaseNCashe chillin at my dads crib with the kids when he outta town??," the aforementioned Deiondra brought Chase N. Cashe of Surf Club into the mix (shout out to the homie @RealLifeKaz). Now we're not going to #slander Chase N. Cashe–who has produced records for artist like Eminem and Lil Wayne– since we don't know what went down while he was in Neon Deion's crib while he was out of town.
Deiondra's started putting he stepmom Pilar on blast with, "LIES! LIES! ALL PILAR DO IS LIE!! wait till i leave this office."
A few hours later, followers were blessed with Deiondra clowning Pilar's alleged ignorance to her own divorce with posts like, "#HowYouDidntKnow but yo got a video half naked at PhotoShoot now you know MY DADDY WOULDN'T ALLOW THAT IF YALL WAS WORKING ON YO MARRIAGE" or "#HowYoTopPriorityBeen YO MARRIAGE AND YO KIDS when u flying out of town to see other nig**s...... Yeah We Know."
Well, while all that was going on, Media Takeout were busy leaking photos of Deiondra half-nude pictures to the internet. So, apparently, by putting her step mother on front street, she made herself fair game. I wonder if she regrets putting herself on people's radar?
Soulja Boy's case being picked-up by ATF
Earlier this year, Soulja Boy was in some hot water with the law. It seemed as if he was going to side step any trouble after his arrest. But, now it appears this story is all but closed. Allhiphop reports:
Soulja Boy, born DeAndre Cortez Way, was pulled over on Interstate 20 for a traffic violation.
After searching the car, officers found handguns, thousands of dollars in cash and more than five ounces of marijuana.
According to the Temple police, Soulja’s accomplices, Dontay Lamar Bates, Camron Wagner and James Raymond Smith were all charged with felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute and were also charged with the possession of a firearm.
“This office has not charged a defendant named DeAndre Cortez Way, a/k/a Soulja Boy,” Yvette Comer, representative of the U.S. District Attorney’s Office said. “Otherwise, we do not confirm or deny federal investigations in any matters.”
John R. Murphy, special agent for the Drug Enforcement Agency’s Atlanta Field Division, told the Times-Georgian that the case did not meet requirements for federal drug investigation.
“There were some initial discussions about taking it federal, but it didn’t make any federal guidelines,” Murphy explained in a statement to reporters. “As far as the drugs, it was five ounces of marijuana, that wouldn’t even register on a federal level. If you’ve got a rapper that could show legitimate income, that could be contested as being legitimate income, and without a substantial amount of drugs, we didn’t have anything that would rate a federal drug charge on that.”
Pill puts Maybach Music on front street
Amid rumors that he had been dropped by Maybach Music Group, Pill took the time to air out his grievances with his label. Pill had this to say:
“No TV and No Radio.. U do the math.I bet u can name you favorite artist and the turn on the tv and see the video and hear it on the radio. It’s not rocket science. Radio and TV b4 I had a deal, none after and u ask why Pill ain’t blew all the way up. Artist sign deals, label doesnt do shit for them or don’t even know to work the artist. time wasted..

50 discusses avoiding potential feud with T.I.
50 Cent has never been one to avoid a feud with a fellow rapper, but last month it seemed as if he side stepped a potential feud with T.I. Recently, 50 sat down with Vibe to discuss what happened.
“We got mutual friends and I was actually in conversation with one of them, and they was around him, so…” 50 explains of how he and T.I. managed to have a conversation. “I didn't tell him to get [T.I.] on the phone and [T.I.] didn't tell him to get me on the phone. They was just there and they was like, ‘Yo you need to talk to him because you don't know where it's coming from.'”
“We get into it and he had a lot of legitimate points,” says 50. “When you going through something, the press will ask you questions about things; they'll ask other artist that are relevant to the culture things about artists that are going through something and your response impacts harder than it will at any other point. The people that want the fight, they'll start to champion that.”

After nearly two months of speculation of what caused the sudden death of Heavy D, information regarding his death has now been revealed. Hip Hop Wired reports:
The untimely death of rapper Heavy D was due to pulmonary embolism caused by deep leg vein thrombosis, reports TMZ. It appears that the beloved rapper had a blood clot (a thrombus) in his leg that traveled up to his lungs, blocking blood flow to his heart.
Days before his death—on Novemmber 9, 2011—the veteran rapper had returned from Europe after performing at a Michael Jackson tribute concert. Blood clots in the leg can occur during long flights. Another possible factor in Hev's death is that he suffered from heart disease, according to the LA Coroner.

Tigger loses his job on his birthday
It's never good news when you hear someone lost their job...especially around the holiday season or on their birthday. Well, apparently that's what happened to Tigger earlier this week. Hip Hop Wired reports:
WPGC's Morning Show with Big Tigger and Free is no more. Yesterday (December 22), Tigger confirmed reports that the he and the Washington, DC station had agreed to part ways via his Twitter account.
Tigger started with WPGC nearly 20 years ago as an intern, and worked his way through the ranks. As one of the more popular radio and television personalities, Tigger will surely be missed in the DMV area.
Young Buck may be no more after bankruptcy case
Who knew a person could lose EVERYTHING in a bankruptcy case. According to reports, Young Buck (born David Darnell Brown), could lose his stage name as a result of the case. Hip Hop Wired reports:
According to The Associated Press, Davidson County Bankruptcy Judge George Paine converted the artist's bankruptcy from Chapter 11 reorganization to Chapter 7 liquidation this week.
The trustee administering his estate has said she plans to sell the trademarked “Young Buck” name along with other assets.
To date, creditors have submitted 22 claims totaling $11.5 million in Buck's bankruptcy case, including $10 million that the record label G-Unit Records says Buck owes them over a contract dispute.
Young Buck spoke with The Tennessean newspaper and stated,
“I just wish the trustee would understand that I'm actually in a position to actually work again. Either way it goes, you're going to get paid. I'd be back working again. My income would only grow just by being a part of a company that's as big as Cash Money and by being an artist as talented as I am. Cash Money provides me with a job to pay off the bankruptcy and creditors. My name, Young Buck, has been with me since I was 12, 13 years old. At the end of the day, it's ridiculous. My name wasn't given to me by G-Unit Records. They didn't name me Young Buck. My mother calls me Young Buck.”

Suspect named in Slim Dunkin murder case
On Thursday, police finally released the name of the man they believe is responsible for the shooting death of Brick Squad member, Slim Dunkin. Hip Hop Wired reports:
Rapper Young Vito (28), has been identified in the murder of Dunkin, and has been advised to turn himself into custody. Vito, whose real name is Vinson Hardimon, is currently at large and authorities suspect his safety is in jeopardy.
"We are urging Mr. Hardimon to turn himself in to authorities because we have reason to believe he may be in danger," the release said.
Vito is known around Atlanta as the "Zone 6 Street Legend-turned-Rapper." While the description of Hardimon's character may indicate his short control over his temper, by no means does it justify his behavior.
