Another great music legend has left us. The "Queen of Disco" has passed away at the age of 63. Hip Hop Wired reports:
The music world has lost yet another icon. Disco Queen Donna Summer has lost her battle with cancer. She was 63. According to TMZ, Summer was in Florida at the time of her death, and had been trying to keep the seriousness of her condition under wraps.
Despite her illness, TMZ reports that Summer was trying to finish up
a forthcoming album. The 5-time Grammy winner is best known for her hit
“Last Dance.”
Released in 1978 the track debuted atop the Billboard Hot Dance Play
Charts, and at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. The singer's death comes
one day after the passing of Go-Go Godfather Chuck Brown.
Summer relocated from Los Angeles to Nashville in 1994. She is survived by her husband, daughter, and four grandchildren.
