Sooner or later people will learn that you can't have an award show for rappers. The Source, Vibe and OZONE Awards have all dealt with brawls breaking out, and now we can add BET Hip Hop Awards to the list. Hip Hop Wired reports:
Details are still sketchy but Rick Ross and Young Jeezy allegedly exchanged words and scuffled backstage at the BET Hip Hop Awards, which were being taped tonight (September 29th) at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center.
Apparently the two rappers, who have hurled veiled and not so veiled
shots at each other in rhyme—and who also happen to be Def Jam
labelmates—heatedly exchanged words, which soon became shoving and
pushing before both of their personal and BET's security teams stepped
into separate them. After the altercation, which occurred while the
award show was taping, someone from Ross' entourage allegedly fired
gunshots while in the Civic Center's parking lot.
Source also say that 50 Cent and Rick Ross' camps, specifically
Gunplay, got into a physical altercation. Source also said that Gunplay,
who was rolling with Ross when he walked the red carpet, had been
arrested but MTV News reports that the 106 & Snort rapper was only detained.
DJ Drama went on air to discuss his account of the Jeezy/Rozay confrontations:
