WWE aplogize to Kobe Bryant after Abraham Washongton remarks

I was actually watching Raw this past Monday and missed the joke but caught Michael Cole and Jerry "The King" Lawler's apologies. Well, the WWE has officially given Kobe Bryant their apologies now. Hip Hop Wired reports:

The WWE is under a little bit of fire for making an off color remark about Kobe Bryant last night during it's trademark show, Monday Night Raw. During a match between WWE superstars Kofi Kingston and Titus O'Neill, manager Abraham Washington (who was wearing a live microphone) said O'Neill was "like Kobe Bryant at a hotel room in Colorado … he's unstoppable."

The comment was a reference to Bryant's 2003 s*xual assault case — when he was accused of r*ping a woman in his hotel room in Eagle, Colorado. Washington later tweeted “I would like to apologize to all the #WWEUniverse for my inappropriate and insensitive remark. I went too far with that joke." AW continued, "There was no malicious intent behind the joke. It was either a Kobe or Lebron joke. Lebron jus won the Finals so there you have it.”

WWE is to have said to take appropriate action for the remark, but didn't specify what those actions will be.
