Charlamagne tha God: "SXSW was one big corperate circle jerk."

I haven't been to SXSW in a few years, but it appears that the festival is losing what made it so successful in the first place. First there was the incident with that stuggling rapper driving a stolen car the wrong way down a one way street. Artists like Tyler the Creator being arrested for inciting a riot. On Monday morning, Charlamagne tha God, who took part in the Woody Awards, referred to SXSW as "one big corporate circle jerk". Being that I wasn't in attendance, I can neither agree nor disagree with that statement. But one person did agree: TDE's own Schoolboy Q. Allhiphop.com reports:

Less than a week after Schoolboy Q voiced his regret of Top Dawg Entertainment signing with a major label, he derides South By South West for its apparent change for new artist discovery to another corporate industry event.

According to Q an in interview with The Associated Press, the event has lost its focus on the independent artist and become “corporate”:
It’s stupid. They changed it all up. It’s corporate. I don’t ever want to come back unless they change it to where the fans are in. I’m tired of performing and seeing my fans outside the gate. … That’s not fair. It’s not about the fans no more, it’s all about money, who can give you the best look.
The article stated that the interview took place this past Saturday (March 14) as he prepared for a show, which may have been his performance at Spin Magazine’s Spin Day Party. Following his performance, Q sent out a few tweets from his personal Twitter account complaining about his set and SXSW as an event.

Q’s SXSW was one full of technical difficulties. Q was apparently denied entry into 50 Cent’s SXSW performance days before his Spin Day Party appearance
