McDonald's to sponsor a new B-Boy battle

So if you're a hip-hop enthusiast you'll be happy to know that McDonald's is helping to keep the truest essence of the hip hop culture alive. They have launched a new B-Boy battle. Hip Hop Wired reports:

McDonald’s is keeping one of the true essences of Hip-Hop alive and recognizing real with their inaugural B-Boy Royale in New York City.

You’ve seen all the countless dance flicks over the years but this is competition is real life for real prize money.

The format is simple; crews from all over the nation will go head-to-head in breakdance battles for rights to supreme dominance and, of course, bragging rights.

Korean American rapper Dumbfoundead will double as the master of ceremonies and DJ as the first host of the event. The winners of the contest will receive $3,000.

Everything will be left out on the floor later this summer on August 16 at NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets can be purchased here with proceeds going to the Ronald McDonald Charity house.
