Now if this was a regular person, this story wouldn't be news. People get their homes robbed all the time when they're at work. But, when you're a pro football player and your house gets robbed while you're playing in the AFC Championship game, yeah that's worthy of being reported on. Hip Hop Wired reports:
New England Patriots safety, Derrick Martin, was on the losing end of the AFC Championship game this past weekend as his team went down to Ray Lewis and the Baltimore Ravens. Shortly after having his season end, he learned that his Colorado home was robbed.
According to Deadspin,
two masked men, armed with guns, broke into Martin's Aurora, Colo.,
house around just as the AFC Championship game was wrapping up. One
adult and several children were home at the time, though no shots were
fired and no one was hurt. The robbers got away with "numerous items of
value."
Martin has been on the past two Super Bowl winning teams as a member
of the New York Giants last year and the Green Bay Packers the year
prior. While the robbers might have known that the football player would
be out of town, police in Aurora, Colorado say that "there was nothing
said during the robbery that would indicate that."
