A close associate to D-12, King Gordy has been shot. If you think back, Gordy made a brief appearance in the movie 8 Mile. Hip Hop Wired has the story:
King Gordy, a close ally of D-12 rapper Bizarre,
was shot five times on Tuesday (February 5) in what some sources say
was a robbery attempt. Although details are scarce, it is thought that
Gordy survived the gunshots.
A longtime mainstay of the Motor City's underground rap scene, King
Gordy has worked with a variety of Detroit rappers including Eminem. His debut album, The Entity, was executive produced by Slim Shady and featured D-12's Bizarre and Obie Trice.
Gordy, 35, was also affiliated with rapper Esham, and shares the
veteran's penchant for outlandish “horrorcore” rap tracks. Gordy has
also recorded with the late rapper Proof, Tech N9ne and Stic Man of dead
prez.
Gordy dabbled in acting, making his debut in Eminem's 2002 film 8 Mile
as the character Big O. Bizarre went to Twitter to voice his support
for his childhood friend. “King gordy.. get well my n---a.. I'm praying
for u... I'm on way back know to the d,” tweeted Bizarre.
