Tim Westwood's afternoon show gets canned

In hip-hop culture, for years now, if you made a stop in the United Kingdom, Tim Westwood's radio show was a must to have on your itinerary. Well, the show is apparently no more thanks to BBC. Hip Hop Wired reports:

Lauded British radio host and Hip-Hop DJ ,Tim Westwood, has been fired from his afternoon post at BBC Radio. Westwood's show has become a go-to location for the likes of Nicki Minaj, A$AP Rocky, Wale, Big Sean, and more so it's confusing why he would be let go from the gig. The 54-year-old broke the news to his more than 200,000 followers on Twitter yesterday without giving much insight into why he was booted. "I've been sacked from 1Xtra Mon-Fri 4-7pm from sept ‪#Westwoodyourfired‬," he wrote.

Even though his "drivetime" slot is no more, Westwood will remain under the employ of the BBC hosting a Sunday night program, alongside his Saturday night time slot.

I thoroughly enjoy watching the interviews on YouTube. Plus, most of the time, you always get a dope freestyle out of the deal. This may be one of the last ones. Slaughterhouse recently stopped by to show Westwood some love. Peep:
