Ice Cube plans to takes plans to take over both small screen and big screen



Ice Cube has been acting almost as long as he's been rapping, appearing in his first movie, Boyz n the Hood, almost 20 years ago in 1991. Since then he has starred in, produced and directed blockbuster hits like Are We There Yet?, Barbershop and it's sequel, as well as XXX: State of the Union. Not to mention producing television adaption to Are We There Yet?, and the short-lived FX series Black. White.

Well, now, Cube is starring in the new drama Rampart, along with Woody Harrelson. The film centers around police misconducts in the Community Resources Against Street Hoodlums (CRASH) anti-gang program including unprovoked shootings, beatings, planting of evidence, framing of suspects, stealing and dealing narcotics, bank robbery, perjury and covering up evidence. Rampart premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2011, but is set to hit theaters January 27th. Check out the trailer below:



Now, Ice Cube is now developing a new series set to be apart of the new FX line-up. Hip Hop Wired reports:

Ice Cube has signed on to star and executive produce a new dramatic series for FX entitled 'Eye For An Eye'.

The project will be a joint venture with Cube's Cube Vision and Jeff Kwatinetz's Prospect Park.


In the show, The N.W.A. alum will play a seasoned paramedic who begins to snap after seeing one too many victims struggling for survival in the back of his ambulance.

He decides to become a vigilante as he seeks revenge for all the ill deeds he has witnessed. His life soon begins to fall apart as he struggles to regain control of his actions.
