Industry insiders, like myself, have long been wondering what happened with Mannie Fresh's deal with Def Jam.
The public might not have been aware of this a few years back, but around the time Mannie Fresh left Cash Money Records, Jay-Z (who was President of Def Jam at the time) offered Mannie Fresh a deal with Def Jam. It was said that it was going to be a production deal, which I assume would have involved some sort of joint venture as well. While many awaited to see what Fresh was going to be able to do without Cash Money, nothing ever seemed to materialize.
Well, now we know why. Mannie Fresh claims Cash Money sabotaged the deal by not allowing a feature from Lil Wayne. What the video footage below:
