Rap loses another legend...Heavy D passes at the age of 44



Earlier today (November 8), rap legend Heavy D was pronounced dead at a LA hospital. TMZ reports:

We've learned a 911 call was placed from Heavy's Beverly Hills home around 11:25 AM to report an unconscious male on the walkway .

When help arrived, we're told Heavy D was conscious and speaking -- and was transported to a nearby hospital.


He died a short time later.


Heavy D, born Dwight Arrington Myers, has a career that spans over 25 years. The rapper, producer and actor impressive resume includes 3 Platinum albums, 2 Gold albums, an appearance in the hit movie Life, and hit TV shows such as Living Single, In Living Color, A Different World and the Tracey Morgan Show. At the time of his death, he was preparing the release of another album.

The Urban Advocate would like to salute a true legend...R.I.P. Heavy D!
